 The Las Casas Institute at Blackfriars recently held a day-long conference on the perennial theme - but especially relevant in 2016 - of truth-telling in the world of politics. Blackfriars alumnus and former JCR president William Kent offers a personal reflection on the discussions of the day, which featured a distinguished list of speakers including the University's Chancellor, Lord Patten. Read more

Among the Regent’s numerous academic activities during Michaelmas Term was his attendance at the Sapientia Day: The Heart of Revelation, A Dominican Perspective, which took place in Budapest and was part of the Order’s 800th Jubilee celebrations. Read more

Blackfriars alumni and their guests assembled on Saturday 17 September for a very enjoyable dinner in the Refectory of the priory. Most of the Oxford-based friars joined our guests, and included the present and two former Regents of Blackfriars Hall (the latter being Frs Richard Finn and Simon Tugwell, both newly returned to Oxford).  Read more
